About this course:

This course offers a comprehensive exploration of affordable housing development, covering both family and senior communities. It addresses fundamental questions such as why and how to develop affordable housing, who participates in the process, and reasons for non-participation. Additional topics encompass compliance with funding regulations, nuances of site selection and TCAC regulations, community engagement, political backing, project execution, design and entitlement challenges, financing (including the TCAC application process), market dynamics and pricing perceptions, fluctuations in tax credit pricing, operations and management considerations, and exit strategies. Real-life case studies illustrate affordable housing projects, supplemented by insights from guest speakers in the affordable housing sector.
