About this course:
Patients often are faced with a variety of options and alternatives in making decisions about their health care, particularly as the health care system has evolved to a more patient-centered mode of practice. In their role as educators and liaisons, patient advocates need a working knowledge of ethical issues involving patient, family, and physician rights and responsibilities. This course provides an overview of the ethical and moral questions that arise in the practice of patient advocacy in relation to medical treatment and scientific research.Spring 2021 Schedule
