Master of Interior Architecture: Apply

Study at a CIDA-accredited graduate program

Application Requirements

MIA Apply

Admission to the Master of Interior Architecture degree program requires the following:

  • Applicants must have received a bachelor’s degree and have attained an overall undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0
  • Completion of the 82 prerequisite units from the Interior Design: Foundation Level Certificate, or equivalent

Applicants with an undergraduate degree in interior design, architecture, or similar design-related field may be able to bypass the Interior Design: Foundation Level Certificate prerequisites, and may be eligible for advanced standing. Before applying to the program, a transcript evaluation by our program advisor is required. Call (310) 794-3747 to schedule an appointment.

Please note that a bachelor’s degree in interior design is not required for admission into the master’s program. If your degree is in a field other than design, or you have not previously studied interior design or architecture, you must first complete the Interior Design: Foundation Level Certificate prerequisite classes in order to apply.

Due to the program being fully online, applicants from outside the United States should note that Cal Poly Pomona cannot sponsor the F-1 Visa for international students enrolled in the Online MIA program.
