Whether you are completely new to the field or have some experience related to human resources, the Certificate in Human Resources Management will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to establish and advance your career in the field. This 36-unit certificate program offers a current, comprehensive, and practical grounding in the major areas required of a human resources professional. Our courses are conveniently scheduled and offer direct skills practice along with guidance from instructors who are well-respected experts and practitioners in the field.

We offer ongoing certificate advisory services to help students plan their course of study based on their needs and schedules. Additionally, career development opportunities exist through an internship program and professional association affiliations.

Format: The Human Resources Management Certificate can be completed 100% online or in-person. Courses are offered in online, remote, and classroom formats.

An internship in human resources management can provide you with practical experience in a variety of human resource job functions. Certificate students must complete a minimum of 20 units of program curriculum (typically 5 courses), with a GPA of 3.0 or better, before enrolling in the internship.

The Certificate in Human Resources Management is approved for international students (F-1 student visa).

International applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency by submitting test scores from either TOEFL, IELTS or iTEP. Some applicants may be exempt from this requirement if certain criteria are met. 

English language proficiency (minimum*):

  • TOEFL iBT: 100
  • IELTS Academic: 7.1 overall
  • iTEP Academic-Plus: 5.1 
*Admitted international students whose test scores are below 100 on TOEFL iBT, 7.0 on the IELTS Academic, or 5.1 on the iTEP Academic-Plus will be required to take 1-2 supplemental English as a Second Language courses.
